What a greeting...

Our first sight of the port of Patras, where our ferry left from, was one filled with fences, barbed wire, and men who wanted a ride to Italy, under our bus that is. We had to stop outside the port building, where these men were waiting. As we waited, we started to see them crawling around, going under the bus. Strange. Eventually, the bus driver and a Greek police man were able to convince them that the bus truly wasn't going on the ferry and there was no point trying to catch a ride into the secure area. Apparently that wasn't quite the case, as we unloaded our luggage, someone started crawling out from the wheel well of the bus. I don't think he was going to make it past the armed guards. Anyway, we're all fine, nothing was stolen. The ferry is pretty nice, we're about to have dinner, and will soon be passing Odysseus's home, Ithaca.
