With Love From Mary Ogilvie:
Today we woke up at the crack o' dawn,
there was no run, so we slept long.
The boys loaded the bus
luckily for us.
A three hour drive through Tuscany,
how enjoyable it was for me.
Everyone was asleep
and didn't make a peep.
Upon arrival in Florence
there was no chance
of getting in our hotel
and sleeping for a spell,
so we went to the Uffizi
just to see
all the wonderful art
in this beautiful part of the world.
This was right after lunch
when we munched
upon all the food
which puts us in a good mood.
After a quick break
we planned to make
a trip to another museum
which was not gruesome
because it held the famous David
and didn't make us livid,
because it was spell-binding
and such a finding.
At last came dinner
which was a winner.
It was so filling,
afterwards people were milling
talking about the enormity
of the deformity
of our figures
that were no longer demur.
Now it is night
and we're not feeling so light
so I think that we might
at the very sight
of our beds,
like a block of led,
fall fast asleep
and not make a peep.
